Connecting Stripe
An Operator team member sets up the Operator's Stripe connected account from Tillhaus Store Management:
- Sign in at /account/.
- Open Payments in Store Management.
- Select Connect Stripe. Tillhaus creates a connected account under the Tillhaus platform and opens Stripe's hosted onboarding flow for that Operator.
- Complete the business, identity, and payout details Stripe requests.
- Return to Tillhaus. The Payments screen should show Stripe is connected before you accept a live card-present payment.
If onboarding expires or Stripe asks for more information, select Review Stripe connection in Payments to resume the same connected account. The current flow creates a Stripe-hosted Express Dashboard account; it does not link an Operator's pre-existing Stripe account through OAuth.
Store Management uses these protected API operations behind the screen:
GET /api/account/stripereads the current connection status.POST /api/account/stripe/onboardingstarts or resumes onboarding.- Stripe returns to Tillhaus through the signed onboarding completion and refresh routes.
Stripe Connect onboarding must be configured for the Tillhaus platform before
this action can succeed. If it is unavailable, Store Management reports that
onboarding is not configured; do not paste Stripe credentials into the app.
The platform must be enabled for US connected accounts with card_payments and
transfers capabilities. Stripe collects and verifies the Operator's required
business and payout details.
The Stripe connected account belongs to the Operator business, not an individual Location or reader. Each Location gets its own Terminal Location in that connected account; set it up from Locations after connecting Stripe. With direct charges, the Operator business is the merchant of record for retail sales. Tillhaus does not ask you to provide or store a connected-account long-lived secret key.
