Setting up payments

The current authenticated POS flow requires a POS user session. Unattended Shopper checkout without Operator or staff credentials is not yet implemented. Do not treat the demo checkout as proof of a live unattended payment flow.

Before accepting a live card-present payment:

1. In Payments, confirm that the Operator's connected account status is connected. If it says onboarding is incomplete, select Review Stripe connection and finish the Stripe-hosted requirements.
2. In Locations, confirm that the market has a complete physical address.
3. Confirm that the location has a Stripe Terminal Location and that the assigned reader is available to the tablet.
4. On the tablet, select the intended location and verify that the reader status is unambiguous before opening checkout.

If any of these checks fails, do not retry a payment. Correct the setup first or use the Operator reconciliation workflow.

The tablet identifies the Tillhaus order; the server calculates the amount. The tablet never supplies an authoritative price and never receives a Stripe secret key.
